I wonder if anyone is poss able to help as our henas layed a big egg on thurs and hasn't bee able to lay another since then.

 

Im worried about her being egg bound and I don't want to poke about as she maybe sore, is this normal when a big egg has been laid?

Difficult to tell. Can you get hold of her?

 

Check her undercarriage and see if you can feel anything - you'll be able to tell if an egg is on its way.

 

Also check for any feeling of fluid.

 

She's probably just taking a well-earned break, but if she isn't acting normally, or is seemingly going to lay an egg but doesn't lay anything, it's worth checking out.

She may have a soft shelled egg (although I think that's fairly unlikely) or perhaps it's another big egg and she's having trouble passing it.

 

Can you put her on a hot water bottle wrapped in a towel in a box perhaps? That might help to relax her muscles and the egg might come.

 

If she has got one stuck she might need your help.
