Just been to my local Tesco - wanted to buy free-range chicken, but the shelf where it usually is was full of the standard battery stuff. I found a few Finest free-range whole birds, but I wanted thighs - they normally do them both as free-range and organic. I asked where they were and was told they won't be stocking them now as they need more space for their summer BBQ meat range. So unless you want to buy a whole bird you can now only buy battery chicken at my local branch. I'm fuming - won't be shopping there til they bring it back (if they do) and am going to put a complaint in.

I went to my local Tesco's yesterday and the free-range and organic chicken section had very little on it, I assumed that they just hadn't had a delivery (there's never anyone to ask). It didn't occur to me that the section might be 'shrunk' to fit the bbq stuff in. I shall keep an eye on the situation.

Tesco's the last place in the world i would ever shop due to their lack of support for animal welfare issues and british farming

ditto. Havent shopped there since the whole HFW chicken out campaign.

My daughter won't let me shop at Tesco anymore - she gets soooo angry at them every time an advert comes on TV.
