duckish delight Posted May 2, 2009 Share Posted May 2, 2009 Hi omleters I am new to this and don't own any birds yet but would really like to keep 1 chicken along with 2 ducks in the same eglu is this possible or would the chicken get lonely? tara Posted May 2, 2009 Share Posted May 2, 2009 I keep 1 chook with 5 ducks but thats because her ex bat friend died a few weeks ago.My girl sleeps on her own till l get the call of another rescuse date. I would not keep them in the same eglu as the ducks dont roost and l think its better to keeps chooks together if you can.I also find that my girl stands next to the run next door with 5 chooks in it l suppose there more like her but she was given the choice were she wanted to live when rosie died and she's happy living were she is but im not happy as l can see she misses being with another chook so im just waiting for that call Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

As has been said, the perching will be an issue, and if either of the ducks are drakes, the hen might have to fend off unwanted advances.
