oh good I was going to ask the same question as someone told me that the size I am getting now is going to stay the size(my eggs are so small ..speckledey/bluebelle/2 GNR /etc). I did have one big egg at the beginning but no more they are all diddly...but very tasty! It means I just have to have two now!

I wormed them at the end of March...! Can wormyness make eggs smaller?! :shock:

Hi Saronne,

 

Well, infestations of parasites can make them stop laying altogether if severe, so I would think that smaller eggs could possibly be caused by worms or other parasites. If they've been wormed and dusted/sprayed against red mite, I'd check they haven't got lice or NFM.

 

The other thing I'd look at is their food - is it still in good date and condition, hasn't become damp etc? If they're going off their food the eggs will get smaller too.

 

It's like being a detective isn't it?! :lol:
