My Miss Pepperpots are between 50 and occasionally double yolkers of 78g, average normally 56g ish. They have been laying around 4 weeks now. Guest Posted May 11, 2009 Share Posted May 11, 2009 oh good I was going to ask the same question as someone told me that the size I am getting now is going to stay the size(my eggs are so small ..speckledey/bluebelle/2 /etc). Saronne x Hi Saronne, Well, infestations of parasites can make them stop laying altogether if severe, so I would think that smaller eggs could possibly be caused by worms or other parasites. If they've been wormed and dusted/sprayed against red mite, I'd check they haven't got lice or NFM. The other thing I'd look at is their food - is it still in good date and condition, hasn't become damp etc? If they're going off their food the eggs will get smaller too.
