I am planning on buying that super thick blackout tarpaulin for cover the , to avoid early morning talking (Peep sounds like a goose!). Presumably I should cut ventilation holes in the tarp to match the vents in the ? Won't this let in enough light to render the tarp useless though (particulary the vent at the back)?

could you perhaps peg it down like a tent at the back? sort of away from the Eglu air could still circulate, also just taking it over the run will probly hel heaps too & won't cover the vents!

I'd think cutting holes it it would defy the point and just let light in.

 

Pegging it at an angle on the back sounds like a good idea.

Pinning it down like a tent sounds like a good idea, because I was concerned that the holes would let the light in (and defeat the purpose). Hmmm...will have to think on this.
