Marbles in chick drinkers

Recommended Posts

How long do I have to be scared of him/her drowning? When can I take the marbles out/ use a drinker without worrying?

I have one of these, the 2.5 ltr mushroom drinker, hanging so s/he can't get it at present: http://www.flytesofancy.co.uk/chickenhouses/Plastic_Poultry_Drinkers.html

which they sell as being suitable for chicks of all ages. Should I put marbles in it - it seems huge?

The little ones are ok for chicks but that does seem too big so I would put marbles in just to be sure

Thanks. Seems a bit big for my eglu as well  Will put marbles in it today and sink it into the aubiose so that it doesn't spill, both Gemma and the chick seem to like the marbles

Thats the drinker I use for chicks....it's fine and a chick would never fit in it to drown. Before long the chicks kick the easibed into it and I raise it on an upturned saucer, then an upturned bowl.

Brilliant - I have loads of marbles in it at the moment but will take them out over the next few days then. I will have loads of aubiose kicked into it then, I now have new arrivals (if they survive the night with their new surrogate mum).
