xenacathy
Hi Over the past couple of days a couple of my three chickens have been laying eggs with strange swirly ridges around them. Nothing in their diet has changed. They are on a diet of a complete layers mash food which contains the grit etc. They are ex-batts, rescued 3 weeks ago. Any ideas? Many, many thanks. Other than that, they are very happy hens.

craftyhunnypie
Maggie may one of my black rocks eggs have ripples - never a uniform egg shape. Nothing to worry about it's just that they get disturbed halfway through laying an egg & it's the way their vent pulses & pushes the egg out. Egg shells aren't totally hard when being laid - they harden off on contact with the air once laid. Emma.x
