drcara
Can I ask a bit of a dumb question? I am a little old fashioned when it comes to cake tins, so the silicone tins are a new experience for me! For the victoria sponge, in this mould, do you still grease the silicone and do you place the silicone on a baking sheet?
sunshinesupernova
With silicone, it's quite floppy so needs the support of a baking tray. It doesn't need lining. However, for first two or three uses, butter the inside. Once you've used it a couple of times, it builds up a small amount of residue (would come off if you wash really really well !) and this stops any sticking so no further need to grease. You must wait until your cakes are cool before turning out.
