moochoo Posted May 26, 2009 Share Posted May 26, 2009 There's no real limit to age. Personally, I start when they're POL (around 18 weeks). At least then they've had the opportunity to get all their nutrients from their growers pellets. I'm sure it causes them no harm to have a few before then but mine have never been big eaters before coming into lay so I've never felt they needed any extra treats. Olly Posted May 26, 2009 Share Posted May 26, 2009 Don't feed too many, and don't feed to early in the day would be my advice - I've never hatched chicks so I can't advise on the age, but I only give my girls treats at the end of the day so I can be sure they've filled up on the pellets.
