Hi,

 

I discovered one of my girls had an impacted crop last Friday, we did the olive oil and maggot routine and sorted it in a couple of days. She did lay an egg Saturay but had nothng since, she usually lays every other day at the least Could the impacted crop of had an affect on the egg production Should I be doing anything

If the crop is impacted, food can't get down. They need to be on their usual rations and eating plenty for them to be able to form eggs.

 

Is she back to eating normally? it might just be taking her a while to get over the shock to the system.

 

Does she go on the pot like she's going to lay but then come away not having laid?

Yes, she seems to be eating normally, just took out such lettuce and she eagerly snatched it from me. I haven't seen her go to the nest but have been at work til now so I will watch for her.

Her normal food, the meal or pellets you give her contain all of what is necessary to get her into good laying form again. I'd be tempted to restrict treats until she's made a full recovery and is popping you out eggs again!
