theherd123
Ive have a poorly girl for a few weeks now and when she was first ill thought she would meet her maker but she pulled through with loads of TLC. The problem is she is a little on the slim side and she needs beefing up somewhat. As well as her usual layers pellets ive been offering maggots, sweetcorn, tuna, grapes etc and even though she is eating well she doesnt seem to gain any weight. Any suggestions would be most helpful.
daj198
You could try the ex-bats feed. That's supposed to beef them up a bit!
moochoo
The ex batts feed is great. I remember someone giving their chooks weetabix mixed in warm water too. I guess it's worth mixing dried corn in with their pellets. I've found lifeguard poultry tonic has really improved my girls' appitites when they've been low. Hope she perks up Em. Nats
Along with their normal food I give my girls all sorts of treats such as Weetbix, porridge, Alpen and rice pudding to name a few. Weetbix with water; tinned rice pudding with sultanas chucked in too! Hopefully "Ooops, word censored!"ody will see this and tell me it's all poisonous for them! They love it!
