Eggsie
One of my Pekin bantams has had dark droppings like tar - really black and sticky. she's stopped laying too. This has been gpoing on for about 3 weeks - we were hoping it would clear as she looks plump and healthy and happy in all other respects. Any advice please? Plum
Hi, I think they can be like that after eating a lot of protien such as slugs and worms. One of mine does that when she passes a caecal poo. I don't think it's a problem. It could be old blood she's passing which would look like that but she would have a pale comb. Someone with experience will be along soon. Eggsie
Thanks Plum. All 3 of my Pekins are free range so maybe she could have a taste for slugs and worms? My other two are fine though (at the mo, well one's broody and the other is doing cockerel impressions but thats another story! )
