We started two years ago with a trio in an ark and now my garden looks like this:- We've separated the garden on the right hand side into four pens for the chickens. This one has my mixed bunch in it at the minute:- This is the same one but also shows the second pen which houses my Barnevelders:- This shows the fourth pen (sorry no photo of the 3rd for some reason!), this currently has my youngsters in it:- Every evening we let two pens out at a time, one free ranges on the field, the other in the garden, then we put them away and let the other two pens out. There are a few improvements to be made, one is to build four hen houses so that they all match and the second is to get some woodchip down in the runs (local pub has just had a load of trees chopped down so i'm collecting it for free!).
