4m x 3m Omlet pen, cube, new auto door still boxed and coop light

The WIR is just 6ftx6ft. How many bales of aubiose should I order to last me say 3 months? any suggestions?

Mine is 6ft x 7 1/2ft (ish!) and I used one whole bale recently. I'm finding I don't have to replace the bedding nearly as often as in the eglu run (I poo pick every day though) so will probably use one bale every 2 or 3 months (if that).

 

I suppose it depends on your storage space and how easy it is for you to buy the bedding. I have a supplier 15 minutes away so only buy one at a time.

really, as little as that? wow! I will be poo picking daily too - too worried about the fly situation and close neighbours.

 

I wonder if hemcore is more suited becuase of the citronella?

Bear in mind though, that my WIR is on soil so I perhaps don't need such a deep layer as I would if it was on slabs .

Mine is 15ft x 6ft and is set on solid layer of slabs. The floor is covered by one bale of Aubiose and a bag of chipped bark. The bark is is just around the door area, to stop Aubiose being trodden all round the garden as people (and chickens!) enter and exit in wet weather.

Not done much, if any, poo picking, and still on the original bale of Aubiose and bag of bark chipping put down in March.
