Chunky_Monkey
Hi, I was wondering if anyone had a scratch mat on the bottom of their run to stop foxes digging under. I know the eglu has a skirt running around the outside of the run, but we don't know if that would totally stop a fox from digging under. Also, if we did have a scratch mat, would it be uncomfortable for the chickens to walk on when they're not out in the garden? I've seen some runs which have an optional scratch mat (I know that forsham arks do have them as optional extras), but I haven't seen much information on the internet about it. Thanks. moochoo
The fox skirt around the run is ample to prevent a fox digging under. If you're really concerned try and weigh the skirt down with some rocks or slabs. Chickens like to scratch about so it's nice to have them on plain ground.
