I dont know what this could be but one of my hens has odd looking feathers?

 

They seem to be thin looking at the back of her head as if bits are missing? not the whole feather but the actual feather itself looks as if it has bits missing? I've checked for lice, but cannot find any, I know Northern fowl mite can do this sort of thing around the vent, but this seems to be at the back of her neck.

 

I will try to get a photo this w-end and post to show you, its hard to descirbe

 

Any ideas?

It does sound as though someone's having a nibble at her neck feathers, or perhaps she's putting her head through a fence or gap somewhere and breaking and ruining the feathers in the process.

 

If you have a bully who is pecking, you'll need to either spray your girl's neck with anti-peck spray, or fit a bumper bit to the pecker, so she can't pull feathers.
