My girls don't like their Glug!

Recommended Posts

Any advice gratefully received!

We bought them a water gravity feeder, as they are ex-batts and arrived on the blisteringly hot May bank holiday weekend.

We figured that they would learn to use it- but sadly not!

Any tips? I'm forever fiddling about to refill the gravity feeder, soaking myself in the process of replenishing the daily water supply! (not so bad in the nice weather....but doing it in winter doesn't appeal) the Glug looks so much easier to refill

Some girls don't get used to the superglugs / gravity feeders. My girls are ok with it but they do like to dunk their heads and get a good glug of water as well.

I have four superglugs and five glugs in the run for them.

Have just realised- did not explain myself particularly well

The Glug came with the Cube- but as they were not using it, we bought a gravity feeder in addition in the hope that they would get to use the Glug.......but not dehydrate in the process. I guess the additional one is probably like the one they had in their 'previous life' and therefore, find it easy to use.

I'm reluctant to remove it though until they've sussed the Glug.

Fingers crossed

Put the glug in on the first day and they did not know what to do with it so luckily had a gravity feederbut they scrabble about and fill this with bedding and dirt so put it up on bricks It got a bit cleaner then. Decided to try the glug again and put in back in the run and straight away half the chooks started to use it In the end I put the glug lower down so they can get their heads in it and now everybody is happy
