Forgotten mobile = panic and chaos!

Recommended Posts

Popped out this morning for a game of tennis with friends, 5 mins from house; realised had left mobile phone at home and joked how naked I felt without it and how tied to them we are......but didn't want to go back for it. :!:

After about an hour another friend turned up at the club. For some reason my ys hadn't registered at school, and as I hadn't acknowledged the automated contact, the next person on the list, OH, was informed. He couldn't get through to the school, so phoned my mum, who panicked

I drove home, logical brain going, must be some mistake, he goes to school with os, so must have got there - i thought mum would have checked with school first before getting into panic mode - but worried mum brain thinking all the worst. Of course there were loads of messages on home phone and mobile to scroll through, but nothing from son. Got through to school - all a mistake, son there all along. Phew!!!!!

OH now knows never to contact my mum in and emergency!

The motto is, if you have your phone you won't need it, but the one time you don't have it you feel like the worst mum in the world! (But all's well that end's well too!!)

:D

Blimey! Its always the way isn't it. I also feel naked without my phone. I once went shopping without mine and had to actually use a payphone *shockhorror* to ring OH for a lift home. But I do remember feeling quite liberated walking about town knowing no one could get hold of me :D Mind you, it was the school hols so kids were at home. But *tsktsk* to your ys school who should have made sure before ringing and panicking everyone. Was he in the loo when they were doing registration?

I had this with my ES at his secondary school. They phoned to say that he had skipped some of his classes. I gave him what for when he came home. He swore blind he had been in school all day, even showing me work for the class.

I phoned the school again, they checked with the teachers concerned and it wasn't my Tom it was another one in the registrar on the line above!
