hi, as need a new vacuum cleaner have decided to go for the Roomba. I am not sure which model to go for, the 560, the 560 pet or the 580... any advise would be greatly appreciated

Blimey, there was a whole thread about this about a year ago. I'll have a look tomorrow and see if I can find it.

 

Quite few Omleteers have them, Cinnamon is the only one who springs to mind at the moment.

Looking at the prices I am thinking of going for the 560 as it looks really good and is the best priced I can find.

we have two!! they are great but our puppy doesnt like them so they hardly ever get used! the batteries do loose their charge after a few yrs tho , and we have had to buy replacements, the only drawback!

Mine arrives on Tuesday, I can't wait. Not sure how my puppy (he's 10mths so can I still call him a puppy...) will be with it, I reckon he may try to eat it so will probably take him for a long walk while it works away

I went for the 550 and it's fine - I do think though that it will only keep down the muck between a "proper" hoovering on the weekend - but it's fun to watch it! It does seem to miss areas out though - maybe it needsto "learn" what it's new home looks like first!

I love,adore & worship my Roomba

 

Mine is the bog standard white one - 530 I think, but I would upgrade it if he ever went badly wrong.

That said,I wouldn't really use the programming features, as you need to clear the floor for them to work properly anyhow (you soon get a mental list of which bits of furniture they get stuck under)

 

My normal Roomba picks up dog hair really,really well, & is brilliant on my hard floors

I echo that sentiment Cinnamon, have only used it once but it is great

Have not tried programming it yet (really got it for the new house) but will set it up when i move.

 

I only found the 530 560 pet and the 560 online... went for the cheapest offer at the time which was the 560, I want the scuba now...
