WarrensWorld
Hi Everyone, We got 4 hens yesterday afternoon and they won't come out of the Cube! Should we put them in the run and close the door of the Cube or should we leave the door open and let them choose what to do?
quickcluck
Oh dear! Are they hiding or worried about coming down the ladder? Have you tried enticing them with a treat? Have the had food and water today?
WarrensWorld
Thanks for your reply. Yes, they've had food and water. They seem very reluctant to come out - they have a quick nibble and then disappear back into the Cube.
theherd123
Maybe they just simply adore their new home so much they dont want to leave! TBH as long as they are eating & drinking i would leave them to settle in, when they feel more at home im sure they will come out
chelsea
Its normal for the 1st few days, the hens will be reluctant to leave their new "home". I wouldn't worry too much, once they have settled they will move further away.
WarrensWorld
Thanks for the swift replies, we'll just keep an eye on them.
Guest
oh the big wide world, am sure they will discover it soon. My friend who has chickens(farming family ) told me to shut them in for a couple of days so they knew where to go at night then apparently I wouldnt have any problems there after. Got to say I ignored his advice and let them out... however I could see why as I ended up chasing them in for two nights in a row... then Voila...they did it all by themselves. Sounds like you have the opposite, are they really young..they will get more confident Good luck indie
