4m x 3m Omlet pen, cube, new auto door still boxed and coop light

Hello all,

 

this is probably me just being impatient, but I had delivered two ginger nut rangers on May 29th and they still don't seem to ahve amtured much. Their combs have not developed very much and there have been no eggs. I'm feeding them as recommended and letting them free range as much as possible. Perhaps they're just slow bloomers, but I expected to be seeing more development by now.......

Dont worry they will start to show signs of maturity soon.

 

When you go to pick your girls up do they start to crouch?

Crouching is a sign of maturity as they do this as if expecting a cockeral

 

The eggs will be well worth the wait!

No, that's what I would expect, but they just dodge out of my way like they did when they arrived!

I had my Omlet hens for 4 weeks before any eggs, the waiting was excruciating. It was nearly 8 before they were all laying and even then they continued to develop.

I think the wait is the most frustrating part!!!! But rest assured there aren't many non egg laying chooks out there

 

I got one of mine last July and she didn't lay until oct/nov now she is my most constant layer of the largest eggies and she still has no head tackle

 

Watch out for the crouching and the color change of their combs and wattles form pink to BRIGHT RED!
