Flubenvet advice

Recommended Posts

Could somebody please advise regard worming my girls.

Flubenvet just arrived and need to start treatment as going on holiday next Sunday so can just get the treatmet sorted before we go.

Instructions confusing or am I just daft, got tyhe 2.5% as this seems to be the one used by all you eggsperienced forum users, but how much... just a sprinkling on some bread? not that keen on grapes, how do I make sure they get the exact amount? sitting by computer awaiting a reply please, and then off to help OH who is putting final extras on th WIR...Yippee.

Many thanks.

 Sorry Egluntine, how much feed would 2 girls get through? Ruby isn't laying so doesn't eat as much and a full grub lasts 4-5 days easily! Sometimes longer, they do free rang every day so I regularly worm them evrry 3 months. How much flubenvet would I add to how much food for 2 girls? :?

I use the raisin/grape method because I know they'll both take it.

i have the 1% and added 6g to 2kg of food. i then put this food in a seperate tin and have used that in the grub. they did throw a lot on the floor the first day (think i overfilled the grub) so i am going to have to make up another batch before the seven days is up i reckon.

About a quarter of the above amount I guess. :D There will inevitably a little wastage. By adding the Flubenvet to the food (and reducing treats!) the hens take in the Flubenvet gradually over the course of the day rather than in one hit, which is the recommended way.
