Oh Carolina Posted June 18, 2009 Share Posted June 18, 2009 Hi, I have just had to take one of my hens to the vet, as she has got an upper respiratory infection, which the vet has treated with antibiotics (for the whole flock). But while there, the vet discovered lice on her body! The shame! I thought I was being quite good about cleaning, treatments, etc but obviously not! I will need to be more vigilant with the louse powder treatment - but what I wonder is can I treat the birds with both louse powder AND red mite powder at the same time? Or do I need to leave time between the different treatments? Also, does anyone know what causes upper respiratory infection? I want to make sure that I can prevent this in the future if possible.
