Soft Shells, Watery Poo and Flubenvet

Recommended Posts

Is there any connection with the above?? :?

We wormed our 5 on Sunday as production had dropped to 1-3 a day, we thought this may had been down to knicker pinching but the culprits now have bumper bits so moved on to worming to see if that helped.

Last night I nearly stepped in a really watery mess which I though was sick but having seen some poo pictures posted :vom: may indicate at worst kidney issues or at best 'nothing to worry about'.

This morning there were 2 softies in the dropping trays

They all seem happy so I am just wondering if there is any connection with Flubenvet and the reactions I have had (watery poo and softies) - could I have overdone the Flubenvet?

They seem happy enough and wouldnt have thought there was anything wrong if I hadnt seen the evidence!

Thanks

Nicola

Sorry I have no answer but wonder if someone else has. I remember Redwing linking flubenvet with something I'll pm her and see. :D

Oops wrong again the link Redwing made was with Large eggs. I looked on the leaflet and it says no side effects so guess there isn't a proven connection.

Come to think of it I started worming because of the odd loose poo. Today I washed Sparrows knickers and blow dried them with great care which she seemed to enjoy. Then what did she do - poo on them again.:D

Well soft shells are easy! Soft shells mean your chickens have a calcium defficiantcy ( soz spelling is awful ) all you need to do to cure soft shells is feed them crushed egg shels or even better oyster shells. just mix it into their daily food and before you know it, hard eggs again. Watery poo is easy too! It simply means your chickens are getting too hot, make sure they get alot of shade and let them cool down. hope this helped :D
