Guest
anyone read this or seen the film? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Egg_and_I I picked up a copy of the book at the library today as it looked amusing. I'm a bit of a sucker for memoirs/autobiogs. I've just finished "The Funny Farm" and "Sheepwrecked" by Jacqui Moffat, both very interesting and engaging. Anyone hankering after a smallholding/small farm should read them I also really enjoyed "Allotted Time" about a cple of guys who took on allotment with no prior knowledge or experience. Anyone know of anything smilar, for when I've finished my current book? Lesley, when are you writing a book?

Olly
I've got an ancient copy of 'The Egg and I' - read it long before I got chickens, in fact it would probably put you off ever getting any! It's a very funny book, but some of her views which were probably commonly held back then are a bit non-PC these days. Don't be put off the book, it's a good read. sadietoo
Gosh yes...I read that years ago...I'd forgotten all about it. I seem to remember it was very amusing, and also by the same author- a book about her experiences in a sanatorium when she had TB.....no seriously!...but she even managed to make that amusing too...I think I might have to see if I can find them on my ancient dad's bookshelf!!!
