Recommended Vets in Glos / Worcs?

Recommended Posts

Can anyone recommend a good chook vet in Gloucestershire / Worcestershire?

I took Roxy to a local vet this morning about the lump on her foot but didn't get the impression they saw a lot of chickens - to the point where she said if there wasn't much pain, she'll just have to limp!!

Many thanks

Hi Dolly,

Barbara (the hen advice lady at Omlet) recommended the following vets to me as chicken friendly.

A customer recommended vet and another recommended on an avian site in Solihull:

tel: 0121 705 3044 - We saw a vet here ourselves (Clare I think her name was, as Lesley wasn't available) who was very gentle and friendly.

This one is quite a trek for you but is supposed to be an avian expert:

Thanks so much for your replies everyone :D , I'm certainly happy to try the avian expert in Banbury, I don't mind the distance if I know they can help her.

Roxy's been on antibiotics for 3 days now and so far there doesn't seem to be a lot of improvement but she still has 2 days to go, so I'll wait and see how it goes.

I can recommend brentknolls, worcester on that list. I took peggy there once when she had been badly pecked and felt they really knew their stuff (unlike my local vets who recently said they would call me whenever they had a chicken brought in as I seemed to know more than the vet!!!)
