jennifer+simon Posted June 25, 2009 Share Posted June 25, 2009 i cleaned out our eglu this evening.... to find the poo tray FULL of little creapy crawlys of every discription . is this the norm? is there something i can do? its was really worring thinking they could have had them crawling over them tonight.... could it be the hot weather? Also another question.... my run smells a bit wiffy! we have recently put bark down (as the grass is a gonner) but the smell seems to be attracting flies aswell. is there somehting i can get to nutrilize the smell and possibly get rid of the flies? Regular cleaning and emptying and a few drops of citronella help enormously. The things that scuttle about in the poo tray don't tend to be the beasties that bother the hens tbh.
