wilkole
We have 6 chickens, 4 used to lay regulary as in every day, we introduced 2 new ones last week and since then we have been getting between 1 and 3 eggs. Charlie laid a softy on Sunday but nothing since. We give them limestone flour and have olive oiled Charlie all to no avail. Any ideas please, we brought them at POL the week before Easter and all had been fine for about 8 weeks.
Space Chick
Is it possible that the new girls might have brought lice or red mite with them? As this can make girls stop laying, would be worth checking out as an option. It could be just them getting used to the new dynamics though - although I am a newbie so someone with more experience will be able to help I'm sure. wilkole
Thanks for that, no lice or worms, both new ones very healthy and all checked prior to putting them in with the old girls.
Egluntyne
It could be the disturbance of the new arrivals that has put the older girls off laying for a while.
wilkole
Thanks for the reply. Still only 2 eggs per day, but some have been from Charlie which is good. They all get along great, any idea how long it will take for them to get back to normal, missing the eggs!!!!
