Redwing
I have a welsh terrier, he is ok on a lead around the chickens but I wouldnt let him loose with them as terriers have such a chase instinct

Chucky Mama
I have a dog who is fine with the chickens despite her being a bit naughty with local chickens before we had our own. She is a mutt with a bit of collie & GSD in her. We had a friends dog to stay for a week last week, a border terrier that we thought would be a nightmare as when they visitied the first time she obsessed about the chickens through the window. I took here out on the lead with the chickens in the run. Everytime she looked at them I told her off. Then I let the chickens out and kept her on the lead. She understood that they were out of bounds. Then I left the lead on and had a broom handy just in case. She understood the rules straight away. She absolutely no trouble, she did think once about having a crafty go but our top chicken told her off big time and she didn't try again. I think the success will depend on the individual dog and how responsive they are to discipline generally.
Redwing
I have a terrier and he barks if the chickens flap their wings or panic
Space Chick
I also have a terrier, he's fine on the lead with them. In fact if they all approach him he runs away, but if he can get one on her own, he'll chase. He only barks at them if they flap their wings or dart off (although to start with he barked like a lunatic!) So, the same as Redwing said
