dancing cloud
Anyone else travelling on Voyages of Discovery cruise round the British Isles leaving Harwich on August 2nd? A long shot, I know, but it's always worth asking - Omleteers can be found everywhere ! Thinking we could form our own support group to deal with our chicken withdrawal issues (and be guaranteed to have someone to talk chickens to that understands)
Guest
oooh that looks like a lovely cruise, Mum is always saying she wants to do a British Isles cruise too. Oh and to sail from Harwich - so near! Looking at their site I can't see if they take kids or not - nothing stated as entertainment for them - do you know if they do. I'll mention them to Mum as worth a look even if they don't - she might like to go alone (she does!) 2nd August we will be mid atlantic on QM2, our tickets arrived today! I was saying to Mum - one month today we'll be sailing out of NYC - so excited I love a crossing!!!
dancing cloud
Your trip sounds fantastic too - bet James is excited. I'm not expecting tickets for another couple of weeks yet, but it's always exciting when they arrive - makes it seem real. I travel alone and Discovery is quite small, so easy to make friends on, and sailing from Harwich is great. From here it's only 1/2 hour to the port, so no traffic jams to airports, cramped flights or hanging around (or jetlag). Whilst Discovery does not have a "no children" policy and children do sail with her, it doesn't lay on anything for them, so is only really suitable for older children who can entertain themselves. Definitely a destination ship rather than a resort ship, which is great for me, but not so much so for families. Hope you have a fabby cruise too!
