Tendring Hundred Show - North Essex

Recommended Posts

Oh yes, Deffo!

I'll leave my OH in a beer tent or something as when I meet up with another chicken owner he tunes out!!!

I think I'll probably wear my 'holy cluck' t-shirt I designed (Same as my avatar) so I should be easy to spot lurking around the poultry section!!!

Yay! Essex meet-up!

Oooo I didn't know that was on, I do love a good agricultural show.

I think my daughter has been invited to a birthday party that day, I may have to decline so we can go to the show instead.

Does the website make anyone elses computer go loopy and only half the page show or is it just mine because I don't run windows?

We might go.

We are off to the Norfolk Show on Thursday. I'm taking my group to look at the chickens.

:D

I was at the Norfolk show today but I didn't see you  I did look for you as there were lots of school groups especially in the chicken tent. There was a group of children getting to handle the little chicks and I wondered how many might end up slipped into little pockets

It was so very hot and crowded, I felt quite sorry for the birds and animals, some of which really seemed to be feeling the heat. It was a bit too hot for me too but I did find that I am quite partial to local ales :D

right, I bought a rather lovely 'I smiley-love018.gif chickens' badge from omlet and it arrived the next day! (Blimmin' quick guys, cheers!)

Feel a bit like those rendez-vous movies when people meet up wearing a carnation holding a newspaper etc! But basically I'll be wearing my badge with pride and mooching around the poultry section for quite some time. Hope to see any of you fellow omletters there!

Hi Stoice & Puffball

Did you go yesterday? I was looking all day for someone wearing an I love chickens badge but never saw you. :(

We managed to meet up with Quickcluck and her OH - it was lovely to meet you Kay & Nick, thanks for the tip about the free food samples we went back and the lovely fancy man gave us some :D

I loved seeing all the variety of chickens, not sure what they all were as they weren't all labelled. Unfortunately they didn't photograph well due to the cages. And it was great seeing all the eggs - not sure how they judge these as they all looked good. We managed to eves drop on a couple of the judges discussing the merits of various chickens and what they look for in a good bird, that was very interesting. :D

You'll be pleased to know that your tortoise fridge was the topic of conversation all the way home!!!

It lovely to meet you too, a shame we didn't see any others there, but it was heaving in the tent so probably easy to miss people :(:(

Lets hope we can find pengy and get a summer meet up going :D:D:D:D:D

P.s loved the Tea cozys!

Hi guys!

I WAS there I promise!

Not as early as I'd like as we got caught up watching the suffolk punches, then a dog agility display. I wore my badge too. Desperately looking for fellow omleters (I then found later I've lost my badge and was quite upset. I'm sure it was attached when my mum and were in the poultry section though.)

I thought the chickens were really pretty, mostly bantams though, they had such lovely clean little toes! Next to no labels on them though, so not sure what they all were. I secretly heart after one of those gorgeous Orpington cockerels but I don't think my neighbours would appreciate him! They were massive with a loud voice to match.

Shame I missed you all
