Help! Injured chicken

Recommended Posts

The dog got out and chased the chicken, it got its leg stuck in the wire of the run, it is now not putting the leg down, is it broken? Should I go to the vet? What will the vet do apart from charge me a fortune! I don't know if it is in pain, it is up and about but limping, maybe just a strain?

only the vet will be able to tell you if it's broken. I'd take her to the vet. The vet will obviously be able to x-ray it to see if it's broken.

Will she let you feel her leg to see if you can feel a break? (be gentle with her)

can she still grip with her claws?

Thank you 3.gif. It was absolutely brand new in the photos - it's not so clean and shiny now :lol: .

I've got Easibed on the floor and don't clean it out that often to be honest. I've only done one major clean since it went up in March but it's due one soon (before my holiday chicken carer comes :wink: ). I do poo pick every day though :) .

Well following the sad loss of Velma, we now have two new arrivals, rhode island reds, Ruby and Roxy (think about 12 weeks old) to keep Daphne company, they all seem fine except that I thought Daphne was just traumatised and lonely, now I think she is broody! She wont come out, is growling at everyone and doesnt like us taking her eggs and she hasn't laid this morning!

Any advice on how to deal with this situation???

:roll::roll:
