ouch, my ears are hurting could you turn the Caps Lock off, Jake!

Chickens do vomit, but it isn't normal behaviour, i.e. they usually only do so if there's something wrong. It might be that she has something stuck in her crop. Does it feel normal, i.e. is it soft or hard, and does she smell funny?

You say she's normally quiet - is she keeping apart from the others and looking hunched, with her tail down, or is she joining in with them and eating and drinking? does she run for treats with the rest of them?

Hard to say what is wrong, without a bit more information.

Hi Jake

You will need to catchthe hen and give the crop a massage, if the crop feels squidgy and her breath smells nasty she could have sour crop (she might burp at you if she is gassy :vom: ) I can't remember the treatment for sour crop but it wiill no doubt come uo if you do a search

if the crop feels hard and there is no smell it may be a blockage, try to see if she will take a few drops of olive oil (be very careful if you need to drop it down her throat as it might go down the wrong way) once she has taken the olive oil massage the hard lump to see if the oil will break it up a bit

Its very hot at the moment and chickens are drinking a lot more so it might not be vomit but a hot hen drinking straight after eating, they can be messy madams so try not to panic too much
