We are the greens and we are mum dad leon and baby on the way.

Our friend has chickens and she recommended them to us . After thinking about it here we are .

They arrived this morning the two of them and MAUREEN , the biggun' seems to be reaaly attacking the smaller one , LOUISE. Is this ok ???? At what point do you intervene

Hello and welcome to the forum. When two or more hens meet for the first time there can often be unpleasentness. Sometimes the 'pecking order' is sorted out quite quickly, other times the pecking / bullying can go for for several days. As tough as it is to watch, this is normal chicken behaviour, and unless blood is drawn you'll need to let the girls work out who is 'top hen'. Once that is sorted everything will calm down and they will all get on like best of friends.

 

For now just keep an eye on them, but if blood is drawn you will need to intervene.

 

Are you able to post some pictures of your new girls? We all like to see chicken pictures here!

Hi and welcome, how exciting, congratulation on getting your new hens. Im afraid theres not a lot you can do at the moment, just let them get on with it unless like already said blood is drawn. Let us all know how you get on

welcome to the forum and congratulations on your chucks they are fab pets and really easy to keep and also surprisingly cuddly! mine are quite often found snuggling up with one of my children. wait til you taste one of your very own eggs fresh that day. there's no better ... good luck with the baby how long do you have left?

WOW! Speedy responses , Thank you soo much that is great support. Well these two little ladies have settled right down now. We are so pleased.They are gorgeous, I never imagined we would do something like this living in London but i think we will all be fine.
