Hi all,

With all this wet weather of late (what happened to the heatwave?!) I was wondering if anyone knows of anything I can put onto the woodchips in the run to keep it fresh. After taking the cover off the run to get a bit of natural sunlight in there, it has got quite damp in the rain and is in need of freshening up!

Any ideas?

It will dy out....providing the rains stays away for a bit.

A rake over every so often helps too.

You can sprinkle some powder disinfectant about.....I use Stalosan F but I believe there is a product called Bio dry which is similar. If you google them you will find them and I am sure they are both sold on Ebay.

Thanks, I was sure there was something out there that would do the trick!

Just keep raking it as well.

Yes lots of us do it. Mine are on paving slabs then mix of woodchips and horse bedding so they have plenty to scratch in and they dust bath in it as well even though I put a dustbath of dry earth in. They just used that to dig and toss around the run. Most think that woodchip keeps fresher than bark
