Hi Everyone,

I am after a bit of advice and I would like your expert opinions please. I have a (cube green) and OH has just agreed to me getting a WIR  . Due to the space I am having a 9ft x 9ft run but the cube will be attached from the outside. At the moment I have 4 chooks and what I really would like to know is, realistically, how many new chooks can I now accomodate. I am afraid that they will be confined to the run as free ranging is a bit dubious here due to Mr Fox. I was hoping for another 3 chooks or is that pushing it a bit

Congratulations on the WIR, how exciting

I would say give as much space as you can afford really. Why not stick to the 4 for now and you can judge for yourself once the cube and WIR are all up :D . I have a 6 x 15 WIR with 6 hens, I would love more hens but I wouldnt want my girls to be crammed in so am sticking with just the 6.

In theory no, another 3 hens is not pushing it however like Chelsea says stick with the 4 initially

Once I got my WIR up and got my existing chickens in it I was able to see how they used the space and visualise how many could realisticaly live in the run
