We have a guest coming to stay...

Recommended Posts

Well I'm sure you all remember Rosie & Jim the bantams my friend gave me for my birthday.

Well they both then when to live with my nan with another friend, Maisie a cuckoo maran, they are all living very happily but Rosie is broody  My nan and grandad have dunked her to no avail and, as it happens, they are coming to stay this weekend. So Rosie is coming with them and will stay here and hatch some eggs for me :D:D(hatch)(hatch)(hatch)

So here is our new lodger this february before she went to live with my nan...

:D But... what breeds??? :?

Please help me decide between...

Brahma

Pekin

RIR bantam

other suggestions? got to be smallish eggs as she is quite small. I could put fake eggs under her and use my friends incubator to hatch at the same time and put the chicks under her? then i could do more chicks. :? Decisions decisions!

Thanks

Tom

Brahmas obviously  And if you manage to find any blue buff columbian LF Brahma eggs let me know because next time Tiger Lily goes broody that's what I want for her. I'd never previously entertained the thought of Brahmas, always preferring Orps as my larger bird of choice. My Brahma chicks came as a package with Tiger Lily the white Silkie and I'm utterly converted now! I have two Orp growers now, both are boys but actually I'm not bothered now because they're not as friendly as the Brahmas and given the choice I'd now always go for Brahmas over Orps.
