My husband came home with a goose egg tonight which he got from a friend who works on a farm. I have put it under my broody and was wondering at what stage I can candle it to check its fertile?

Geese eggs are very different to hatching chicken eggs.

I've never hatched one but the geese at the farm went broody and we got 2 goslings - on was killed so we raised the other. I think you need to splash the eggs with water every so often, and thy need a cooling period unlike chickens.

 

I should think after 10 days you'll see something .
