Valkyrie
Bob Flowerdew doesn't say that beans don't like courgettes, so it is just one of those frustrating things that happens from time to time. I would put it down to poor light and weather conditions - probably changed from good to bad shortly before planting. My butternuts are quite small and I planted them out just in time for all this damp grotty mucky weather.
stoice
Cheers guys. My new replacement courgette seedlings are romping away so will leave one in situ as it's doing well in my other bed on the other side of the garden, and replace the smaller courgette plant (That has never fruited) with a new seedling. Will also dig in some gravel for added drainage in case that is the problem. Are the leaves ok if nibbled by my girls? They're fenced off but my girls just rise to the challenge!
