Lucycj
Hi All, I'm a newbie and got our girls (Maggie, Mabel & Deirdre) on Saturday. Found our first egg today which I think was laid by Deirdre as I saw her sitting on the nesting box earlier. The egg was quite small and I was wondering if first eggs are usually smaller than usual and if they get bigger? Thanks, Lucy x
Redwing
Yes they will get bigger, it does take a while though

Space Chick
As an example when my Rose started laying in May, her eggs were around 45 grams, now they are typically about 60 grams (although we did get a 78 gram one on Sunday - a double yolker too!), so they do gradually get bigger
Mutrix Farmers
I found the eggs got bigger quite quickly. Katie's eggs are usually 68-70g now, occasionally bigger, but never smaller.
