legend21 Posted July 15, 2009 Share Posted July 15, 2009 Hi all, I have omlet fencing round our part of garden dedicated to chickens, what I want to ask and I bet it is dumb, if I buy battery to make it electric fence will the chickens not get shocked or am I supposed to use it only when they are asleep? Posted July 15, 2009 Share Posted July 15, 2009 Hello I haven't used out electric fencing for a while, but when I did they chooks did get the odd shock when they tried to stick their heads through but they only did it once or twice, the dogs on the other hand It will keep them safer, and they will learn quite quickly not to go too near One tip is to keep the grass short around the fence or it will short out and flatten the battery in the transformer.
