We are looking for more girls at the moment and we would like ex-batts. The only BHWT rescue in our area in the next couple of months with hens available, is on the day we are due to celebrate my Grandad's 90th birthday, so we can't make it.

 

We found an article last night about 1300 chickens at the Swindon & Distric Animal Haven, but by the time I rang this morning they had all been rehomed

 

I was wondering if anyone in this area knew of any other organisations that rehome ex-batts.

Henrehomers have a rescue on the 22nd August - if you go on their site and click on the Application Form there is a drop down list of all the pick up areas.

They are still looking for homes for the 22nd August rescue.

We emailed the Bristol co-ordinator and she said if we register interest for the September rescue and they have hens that are not collected on 26th July we could pick up any that were left on the 27th. So much as I want them all to go to good homes, I hope that they happen to have 6 left over.

There's no co-ordinator in our area, so BHWT it is ... still waiting for a date ...
