littleleicesterfox
Hi there sorry I haven't been around much! My appenzellers are now about 21/22 weeks old and one of them has had her wattles appear. Looking at her today her fluff looks lower than it did, espcially when compared to my other appenzeller and I was wondering whether this could suggest that I may get my first egg appearing soon? I'm really excited!
moochoo
The best way of knowing when eggs are imminent is when your chicken crouches as you approach or put your hand over her back. Eggs are then around a week away. The signs are promising though.

emmamakeup
Yeah I kind of have a feeling my girls were going to start laying - more Hermione than the others as she crouched whenever I approached her and was creeping back and forth to the eglu. She became quite chatty too
