Redwing
Hurrah! do we get to know the names now or are you saving them for the grand reveal of Eglu and hens?
Egluntyne
The standard run on an Eglu won't be big enough for 4 chickens I'm afraid, unless you plan to have them free ranging for the greater part of the day. Have you ordered a converter ( 1st part of extension) ? I would site the Eglu where there is good drainage and a bit of shade.
simone
i have named mine clarissa, claudette, hubby has fi fi and to pick other name yet. will be out a lot of time also building something so will have plenty room we have decided where they are going as most of our garden is veg and flowers, plus greenhouse summerhouse have way too many potatoes growing so going to use a big patch we have just dug potatoes from and put turf etc down then build encloser round that i think, he know what he is doing so leave to him i just fetch and carry will be shady as well
beulah59
We're not getting our ex-batts for a few weeks yet, but we've been having the same discussions for months now We'll keep them in coop and run for a few weeks, until they've settled and a few more veg patches are clear. Then we'll move them round the veg patches until himself gets fed up with doing so, then I'll order a poultry cage and we'll decide on it's permanent pitch and work the veg patches round it next year - it's a plan!
