Merrydale Poultry.

Recommended Posts

Karen at Merrydale is lovely. I have had Merrydale sweeties and merrydale copper blacks and one of their speckledy hens. All have been great hens...very nosey, friendly and inquisitive.

My cochins and lavender pekin also came from Karen but that was before the break in.

Have a look at their website to see what they have available.

I bought 3 chooks early in the year and all have been very happy and healthy.

The setup is very clean and well looked, all the birds look happy, and there is quite a range of chicken accessories available - and Karen is very friendly and knowledgeable.

My Merrydale Crested (Cream Legbar Hybrid) was the most expensive at about £20 but she lays a fantasic !eggblue! pale blue egg !eggblue! nearly every day. :D

Hi Lydia,

We have had all our (6) hens from Merrydale, and I can strongly recommend it. The hens are of a lovely nature, and are in very good condition. Karen and her husband are very knowledgeable, and clearly care for each of their birds. Perhaps give them a call or pop in - they'll be more than happy to help.

We have the following hens:

Merrydale Ranger GNR

Merrydale Sweetie (white chicken)

Merrydale Cuckoo PP

Merrydale Sussex (white chicken)

Merrydale Crested x2 GNRGNR!eggblue!!egggreen!

The Ranger, Sweetie and Sussex have been the easiest to tame and handle. My Cuckoo is very shy but inquisitive. My Cresteds are starting to tame (newest of the flock - had them about 6 weeks), but are much faster on their feet than some of the other breeds!

Hope this helps,

Newmarcell
