White lumps on comb/wattles

Recommended Posts

Interesting.. Your right it does look like blisters. Im not sure but it could be an early symptom of Fowl-Pox, A Virus-Related disease spread by Biting insects. When a Chicken gets Fowl-Pox They tend to get whitish lumps on their wattles and comb. As i Say, it is just 1 symptom. Another Symptom is drop in egg production. If your chicken does have fowl pox, its the dry version which is not as bad as the wet version. Ive Red that any chicken suffering from this nasty virus will soon recover within weeks. Hope this has helped.

I don't think she's been stung. They are not watery inflamed blisters, more like solid, pearly white plaques and they there are a few of them, it's just that one is very large (can you see the 2 at the front of the comb, on the edge?).

I am inclined to agree with Mattaz and think fowl pox having looked at other pics on the web, but only if they go on to crust and scab over. Time will tell I guess.....
