eggregiousness
I had a phone call yesterday to say that my 2 X 10 week old white cochin chicks will be arriving next week! So excited! I just looked at Metcheck and the weather's going to be horrid when they get here. I have an omlet cube shade on order for their run but wondered whether I should get a big clear tarp as well that would cover pretty much all the top and 2 long sides? How old will they need to be before they are safe to let out into the garden? We live in an area with a heavy cat population, the biggest killer of all being the one I inherited from my Mum. Do I take the roosting bars out until they are older? I'm sure I read that somewhere... Sorry for all the questions - I'm afraid there will be more! Fur 'n' Feathers
We've got corrugated clear plastic sheets on our eglu which we're going to transfer to our cube when it arrives. We got these from B&Q and they're very servicable. Is this any help?
eggregiousness
Thanks for the ideas! I've ordered some clear tarpaulin from Tarpaflex as suggested. I don't want the poor babies to be washed away in the rain! Re the cats - do I wait until they are bigger than the cats to let them meet? Thanks again! eggregiousness
Hi Lou-lou! I don't have an eglu or a cube, I'm awaiting delivery of a Bow-Coop, so I don't think I can be mutch help but I did notice that Tarpaflex has a 2m X 2.4m glass clear tarp which might fit the cube? Out of stock by the way. I ordered the next size up - 2m x 3m. Think it might be on the big side for my run but I'll have to wait and see! It might fit OK if I hang it with the longest edge going over the top and down each side, with the shorter edge along the length of the run. Good luck
