Staffordmum
Hi, We are looking to expand and acquire some quail (for eggs!). We have a spare Eglu and will order the small bird kit from Omlet. Does anyone have any surplus birds or can perhaps recommend a breeder in our area? We found someone in Corsham but they're unable to sex their birds yet and we don't want to end up with all males ... We have yet to purchase a good book - any thoughts on which particular breed are best? Thanks, Pat & Steve
broni.jones
i had big trouble finding breeders in my area. i brought my quail hens at the southern counties auction in salisbury Tel: 01722 321215| Salisbury Auction Centre, Netherhampton Rd, Netherhampton, Salisbury, Wiltshire SP2 8RH they are having another specialist poultry auction on 15/08/09. the last one was huge! the hens we brought were very healthy & happy. they were also very very cheap! i brought 6 for £18. beware, i was like a kid in a candy store, i only went for quail & came back with 3 chooks too!
