Pedro1962 Posted July 30, 2009 Share Posted July 30, 2009 When I went to 'tuck' the girls in last night, one of them (Cleo) was making a low-pitched moaning sound. It was almost a mooing sound, which she was making repeatedly. From the sound, I assumed that something was wrong. However, I checked her over and could not find anything immediately apparent. Anyway, this morning I went to check them before letting them out of their cube and Cleo seems to be fine. As Cleo is possibly the world's daftest hen, it may be that she discovered that she could make the noise and then wanted to practice... It was more of a snoring noise and it was loud (for a chicken). In fact I called out as I was approaching the cube, "which one of you girls is snoring?" Next door's cat had been sniffing about before their bedtime and Cleo had been most put out by his presence. Might it be something to do with that... I was well scared - thinking "fluid in her wind pipe" - but let her go to bed as usual.
