Hae just come back from 5 days in sunny Mecorca to find Onion has now got a bald patch monk-style right behind her comb. The neighbour who was looking after them suggested Sage had been bullying her.

 

Anyone heard of pecking right on the top of the head? I have heard of legs, but not heads.

 

Sage has always been the alpha female but they've always seemed to get on ok. Was it just boredom?

We had it last year. It happened before we started letting them out to free range. It grows back.

I have 2 girls with bald heads at the moment.

 

Thinking it's a moult because one of them has new feathers starting to come through and they are not being pecked
